Redefining a classic

The first phase made a better plan for living, inside...

This owner wanted:

- More space in three key rooms:

  Kitchen, Den & 2nd floor Office.

- Better circulation between

  Living Room, Den & Kitchen.

- Improved views of the beautiful

  property to the back &

- An elegant terrace for outdoor

  entertaining (see Exterior).

 

This Den had only been a 14 by 9-foot room with two small windows and no door to the Kitchen.

 

So with a 5-foot addition we increased the room to 14 by 14, added lots of built-ins and two pairs of French doors at the left that open to connect this room with the Kitchen, at the left.

The door at the far right leads to the big living room – so now they can easily get between the three rooms without going into the front hall, and circulation is great during parties!

 

Because this was part of a two-story addition, the 2nd Floor Office above was similarly improved.
