The goal of this project is to preserve as much of the
existing character of the building as possible by retaining its major
features while creating luxury condominium inside. As stated by one Real
Estate professional: "part of the attraction to high-end buyers is the
reminder of its former grandeur and the high quality of the original
materials and spaces with their Arts & Crafts details." |
A condominium proposal
This former church was designed in 1914 in the Medieval
Revival Style by the renowned architect Charles Maginnis
and though one of his smallest, a favorite, for its simplicity and fine
interior mahogany details as well as its carefully crafted stonework. Areas of glass would be
used in the roofs on secondary sides to create dramatic bedrooms, which would
be more sympathetic to the original than adding larger dormers.
